Did you know that Jesus came in the Last Days of the history of mankind? Not only did Jesus come in the end-times, his first coming also marks the beginning of the Last days. In this part of the series, Evangelist Fabrice Akoma shares some scriptures that prove that the Church Age begins in the first phase of the End of Days. He also answers the question “What is the Church Age? Where does the Church Age fit in biblical history and our generation?”
Contrary to what many think, Evangelist explains that the bible shows that a period of time or an era is just a single time in the end-times. End-times therefore means “the final end of a series of many times”. They mean “end of days”. How many days, we do not know because these are days according to our world calendar. These days are based on God’s timing, not ours.
In connection to some historians who divide human history into many epochs and name them according to their defining characteristics: Middle Ages, Modern Age, Postmodern Age, etc. These are not the same as Biblical history. Biblical history are divided into the old and the new dispensations, also referred to as the Old and New Testaments: the Age of the Law and the Church Age. However, Evangelist divides the old testament into (1) the age of fellowship, and (2) the Age of the Law. The New dispensation falls under the end of days that is marked by the Age of Grace.
This Age of Grace is driven by the Church Age, a period of time from Pentecost (Acts 2; John 1:17) to the rapture (foretold in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18). So the Church Age, which mark the first phase of the end-times covers the period in which the Church is on earth whose job is the dispensation of Grace. In prophetic history, it falls between the 69th and 70th weeks of Daniel (Daniel 9:24-27; Romans 11). Jesus predicted the Church Age in Matthew 16:18 when He said, “I will build my church.”
In this message, Evangelist also explains that the Church Age will end when God’s people are raptured out of the world and taken to be with the Lord (1 Corinthians 15:51-57; Revelation 19:6-9; 1 Corinthians 15:58).
